Every Ten Seconds
Note: for some reason the player can't look down in the html build, so if possible I would recommend downloading the Windows version.
Made in under 72 hours for Ludum Dare 51.
Every. Ten. Seconds.
Every ten seconds something happens.
It's either a new task, a hurricane of projectiles, or freedom.
In this top down, pixel bullet hell game, you must try to survive as long as you can. Playing as a little spirit wearing a pumpkin, you must keep your health from dropping to zero as you are forced to complete tasks. There are obstacles to get in your way of this, however. There is a clock, and it is ticking. _Every ten seconds_ you are faced with more than just new tasks.
- One of such events is of course the tasks. You are commanded to complete some form of task that involves interacting with objects. To accomplish that can be as simple as interacting with a single object, or can involve having to obtain a particular item to use on another object. You must complete a task before the next iteration of 10 seconds finishes, or else there are massive penalties that can cut down your health by a lot.
- Another of these events is a bullet hell style storm of shadowy bullets. Try to outlive this, but watch out. As the game progresses these storms get rougher.
- And finally, another is the grace of nothing. You are given 10 seconds without having to worry about a task or deal with bullet hell.
However, that is not all. Regardless of whether it is a task, a bullet hell, or a break, there are enemies roaming the little space you have that aim to harm you. Best not get close to them.
Despite all of these obstacles, whatever being has put you through this confusing torture, you won't let them have the satisfaction of watching you give up. Survive as many **iterations** of this cycle as you can to spite the being that did this to you.
Controls:
- WASD/arrow keys/right thumbstick to move.
- Enter/gamepad button A to interact with something.
- Space / Escape / gamepad button B to pause the game.
